How To: Magazine Nails

How To: Magazine Print Nails

I am now officially in love with this look! It is so easy but looks so professional!

What you will need:
  • Nail Polish (Pastel colours work best)
  • 10 Strips of magazine/newspaper bigger than the nail
  • Rubbing Alcohol/Vodka/Gin
  • Glass/Bowl
  • Top Coat

Paint your nails with your chosen colour, you can apply a base coat first, but I decided not to. I think pale/pastel colours work best for this because the lighter the nail the more the print will show up.

Cut your magazine/newspaper strips out. It works best if you can find articles with small print because you can fit more on your nails and it will look better. Tip: If you're on holiday in a foreign country pick up some magazines/newspapers from that country as the print will look even cooler!

Fill a glass/bowl with alcohol, a shot glass will do. Put your whole nail in there for 10 seconds and then take out.

Quickly apply a strip of newspaper to your nail, hold it down firmly for 30 seconds and don't move or the ink will smudge. I did some diagonally/upside down/ right way up for variety. Repeat with fresh strips of magazine/newspaper on the rest of your nails.

Here is the finished thing, with a top coat! The top coat makes it look even clearer and brighter. Any paper that is stuck to the nail can be removed with water.

Have you tried these nails?
