Clinique Chubby Stick in 'Curvy Candy'

I picked this up at Duty Free in August, I think these retail for around £16? And I got mine for £12.

I picked up the shade 'Curvy Candy' because it seemed like a nice medium pink and because I was forking out £12 for a tinted lip balm I wanted a shade I'd wear often!

I like the fact that this has a wind up mechanism to get more product because I think that this makes it so much easier than having to sharpen it, and I'm always losing sharpeners. I also love the design of this, I love how chic it looks and I also love the fact the packaging matches the colour.

Now onto the actual product. Now obviously this is marketed as more of a tinted lip balm than a full on lipstick, although saying this the pigmentation is fantastic! Some of the other shades are more sheer so I think that the pigmentation of these depends on which shade you pick, but this one is certainly pigmented. The swatch above is just from one swipe of this pencil which is fantastic. This applies really  nicely and smoothly over the lips and doesn't emphasis dry lips which is fantastic, especially in winter. It applies with a nice glossy finish but isn't sticky or overly shiny which is good because I hate sticky lip glosses/ balms!

As for lasting power? It's not fantastic, but I wasn't expecting it to be because thats not really the product that its market as. It probably lasts 2 hours, and it leaves a slight tint to the lips even after this time. However this is not going to last you all day and does need reapplying quite often. However, it is fantastic that this doesn't just slide off straight away or within a few minutes, so I think that for the type of product this is the lasting power is great.

I haven't actually tried any of the drugstore alternatives to this yet so I can't actually compare this to any of them and say whether this is on parr with any of the drugstore alternatives, but I wear this everyday and absolutely love it! However would I fork out another £16 for another one? I don't know, it depends what the drugstore alternatives are like. Don't get me wrong this product is absolutely fantastic but for what it is £16 is extremely expensive, and I think £8 would be more appropriate.

Summer Nails & Makeup

ENTRY WITHDRAWN AS I AM UNDER 16

So first up here is the makeup look I created & how I did it:

I got inspired to do this look when I was on holiday in Thailand & I was looking out of my hotel window at the sunset and I thought 'how cool would it be if I could wear that sunset on my face, hehe'. So I experimented with what I had(excluding the bare study paintpot I used this time round) and came up with this look that I wore out to dinner and loved it!
So what products did I use to create this look?

Rimmel Day 2 Night Volumising Side on my bottom lashes
N07 Extravagant lashes on my top lashes
Barry M Liquid Liner in Brown to line my upperlashline

MAC Bare Study Paintpot as a base
Jelly Pong Pong Nude & Improved Primer to prime my eyes

MUA Lipstick in 'Nectar' for my lips.

QVS Eyelash Curlers
A shader brush & blending brush(pictured below closer up) from Amazon.

This yellow colour from my Blush Professional 88 Palette over my lid

This orange also from my Blush Professional Palette in my crease

This hot pink colour also from the Blush Professional Palette in the outer corner.

So how can you create this look?
  1. Apply an eyelid primer to your eyelid and then choose a shimmery base colour with your finger/synthetic brush.
  2. Apply yellow eyeshadow all over the lid with a shader brush.
  3. Then apply orange in your crease with a blender brush and blend up towards your browbone.
  4. With a shader brush apply some hot pink to the outer corner and then blend out with a blending brush.
  5. Apply brown eyeliner to your upper lashline & then curl your eyelashes.
  6. Apply your favourite mascara to your top & bottom lashes.
  7. Apply an orange lipstick to your lips.
  8. Then apply the rest of your makeup however you like it best! I think this look goes best with a bronzed look, but I wear minimal makeup on holiday so only did the eyes & lips.
And voila! This is super easy and looks really nice.

Now onto the nail look:
So what did I use?

Barry M's Nail paint in 'Lemon Ice Cream' unfortunately I don't have a photo as I have lent it to my friend & am awaiting it being returned.

Dotting Tool

Medium Blue I picked up in an Asian Drugstore

Barry M Nail Paint in Blue Moon

Technic Be Dazzled Nail Polish

So how can you create this look?

  1. Start off by applying a yellow nail varnish to the lower half of your nail.
  2. Wait for this to dry, and then apply a gold glitter polish over the yellow polish to make it look more like sand.
  3. Then apply a medium blue colour to the top part of your nail.
  4. Once this has dried use a dotting tool/nail brush/cocktail stick and light blue/white nail polish to create a wiggly line between the sea and the sand(where the waves crash).
  5. Then to create the white horses(name for waves crashing at sea) draw smaller wiggly lines with the dotting tool/cocktail stick/nail brush.
  6. Apply a top coat of your choice(I used a L'Oreal Clear Polish)

& You're done, this look is very simple and looks so cute!

I then had to nominate 5 bloggers to do this, so I nominate:

Sleek Face Contour Kit Review

Hey Everyone!

So this review was requested by The Beauty Shelf, you can check out her blog here.

Heavy Highlighter Swatch

Blended Highlighter Swatch

I have had this little beauty for quite some time now, but I had been wanting it for ages! I bought this because I wanted a matte bronzer that I could contour with, and thought this seemed like a cute little duo! This actually comes in a box with instructions on, but I threw this away. I think that was a nice touch because it made the product seem more high end and classy. I think the packaging of this is well, sleek! It is very sturdy and I have never had a problem with this when travelling. I love the fact that it is black and doesn't look cheap like some drugstore products do. I also love the fact that it has a mirror, as this is a big plus for me.

I think it is a great idea to have the bronzer & highlighter in one compact because it means you only have to carry one product around instead of two, and I am suprised other drugstore brands haven't jumped at this idea.

Now onto the product, I bought mine in the shade 'light' but there are two other colours available, 'medium' and 'dark'. The difference between the three shades is the bronzer gets darker, and the highlighter becomes more golden toned. The bronzer is very pigmented, but don't let this scare you off because it blends out very easy, and you can make it more sheer easily. It has a very creamy texture for a powder bronzer and isn't at all chalky, I love this because it means it looks less cakey on the face than a typical bronzer.

Now onto the highlighter, I love this highlighter because it isn't too shimmery and is very nice for when you don't want a really obvious highlighter, and just want a subtle glow. The only problem with the highlighter for me is that it can create some fallout and is slightly chalky, but this isn't too big a problem because at £6.49 this is an absolutely bargain, and it is not super chalky.

I am extremely impressed with this product, and I think it is a must have in any makeup collection, I am overall very impressed with Sleek Makeup as a whole and I think it is great that they cater for a whole different range of skintones, from very pale to very dark which is unusual as most drugstore brands don't cater for people with darker skins so I think it is great that there is finally a brand that does!
